Company

Gigraf was founded in 1925 under the name Arti Grafiche Gelmini. Between the two world wars, it primarily focused on publishing for the pharmaceutical and food sectors.
From the 1960s until the early 1980s, its main business shifted to melamine-impregnated papers for the melamine dish market. In 1973, Grafiche Gelmini, now Gigraf, began producing labels, especially for the beverage sector, later expanding to the olive oil market and, more recently, to the over-the-counter product market, including pet food.
Since the 1980s, the company has also been involved in the drafting and publication of medical books and pharmaceutical materials.

Over the years, the company has specialized in label printing and paper converting, which involves transforming paper into usable products.
Its primary activity is supporting large companies and their products, such as by producing secondary packaging components (labels, bands, leaflets, etc.). In this regard, there has always been a strong commitment to minimizing environmental impact (BIA) throughout the entire product lifecycle.

It is important to note that the company has never made a dramatic shift to plastic, meaning it has never believed in synthetic polymers as a safe packaging material for food and pharmaceutical products.

An undeniable strength has been, and continues to be, the total traceability and specific monitoring of each order (inks, primers, dryers, etc.). This service, implemented through IT systems, has been available to clients since the late 1990s. Another advantage offered is reliability: specialized technicians closely monitor production facilities and provide on-site assistance, ensuring the customer receives highly secure product development.

Currently, the administrative and management headquarters is located in Milan, while production is spread across several locations in Italy.
